Change your username

Choose or change the optional username you can sign in with, with a live availability check.
A username is optional. After your first sign-in you're asked to choose one (or Skip for now); if you skip, Settings, then Accounts, reminds you once.
- Open Settings, then Accounts, and select Choose username (or Change username if you already have one).
- Enter a username: 3–40 letters, numbers, dots, dashes or underscores. You'll see whether it's Available or taken.
- Select Save. To change an existing username, select Continue, confirm your identity, then select Change username.
Tip
You can sign in with either your username or your email. Usernames aren't case-sensitive, and once set, a username can be changed but not removed.
