Fill a two-factor (verification) code
Last updated Oct 5, 2026
On verification-code fields, a separate icon fills the current authenticator code from a matching login.
Secure Passwords shows a code icon on verification-code fields (tooltip: “Fill verification code with Secure Passwords”). It fills the code from a saved login for the site that has an authenticator code (TOTP) stored on it.
- After filling your username and password, go to the verification-code step.
- Select the code icon. If more than one login matches, choose the one you want.
- The current code (usually 6 digits) fills — you submit the form yourself.
Tip
For security, code autofill never submits the form automatically. Codes usually refresh every 30 seconds. If no matching login has an authenticator code, you'll see “No authenticator saved for this site.”
