Extension account and session controls
Last updated Oct 5, 2026
The Settings tab shows your account, two-factor status, auto-lock, and controls to change your master password, lock, open the web vault, or sign out.
Open the extension and select Settings. You'll find your name, email, and username, your two-factor authentication (2FA) status (Enabled or Not enabled), and these controls:
- Change master password — enter your current password, then a new one (at least 12 characters, and strong enough to pass the strength check; a passphrase of 6 random words works well).
- Auto-lock after — locks the extension after that long without use (15 minutes to 24 hours; default 12 hours).
- Lock vault — locks now; reopen with your master password.
- Open web vault — opens app.securepasswords.com (you still unlock with your master password).
- Sign out — signs out of the extension.
Tip
The extension keeps settings minimal. Theme, notifications, billing, backup, Location access, and most other settings live in the web vault's Settings.
