Import passwords from another manager
Last updated Oct 5, 2026
Bring passwords in from a CSV exported by your browser or another password manager, with a guided review before anything is added.
Import runs in the web vault under Settings, then Backup & recovery, then Import passwords. You choose exactly what gets added before anything is imported.
- Export your data as a CSV from your old tool. The importer has guided instructions for Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari, Bitwarden, 1Password, Dashlane, LastPass, and any other CSV.
- In Settings, open Backup & recovery and select Import passwords, then pick your source.
- Choose your CSV file and map its columns (Name, Username, Password, Website, Notes) — the importer auto-guesses from the header.
- Review the preview, which flags duplicates and empty rows, and select which rows to import.
- Select Import, then check the Imported / Skipped / Failed summary.
Important
A CSV export contains passwords in readable form. Delete the export file from your Downloads and Trash once the import finishes.
Tip
Import runs in the web vault. Imported items sync to the browser extension too. The mobile apps are coming soon; once they're out, what you import on the web syncs to your phone.
