Set up biometric unlock
Last updated Oct 5, 2026
Unlock with Face ID, Touch ID, a fingerprint, or Windows Hello instead of typing your master password.
Biometric unlock uses your device's Face ID, Touch ID, fingerprint, or Windows Hello to unlock your vault quickly instead of retyping your master password after a refresh or auto-lock.
- Sign in with your master password so the vault is unlocked.
- In the web vault, open Settings, then Security, and turn on Unlock with biometrics (in the mobile apps, coming soon, it's under Settings, then Security).
- Confirm your master password (and a 2FA code, if 2FA is on) and select Continue, then confirm with your biometric.
Tip
Biometric unlock is per device and stored only on that device — it isn't synced — so you enable it separately on each one. The browser extension doesn't offer it; it unlocks with your master password. There's no PIN-only unlock; your master password is always the fallback.
