Troubleshooting
Autofill isn't working
Last updated Oct 5, 2026
Checks for when logins won't fill in the browser or on mobile.
Browser extension
- Confirm the extension is unlocked — select the toolbar icon and unlock.
- Check the site isn't on your Ignored sites list.
- Check that a login exists for this site and that the site is listed in its Websites with a matching rule (Exact host is strict; try Entire domain if the subdomain differs).
- Select the Secure Passwords icon inside the password field to fill or pick the login. The toolbar popup doesn't fill pages, but you can copy the username and password from it. (There's no keyboard shortcut.)
- Note that selecting the icon fills straight away only with a single match on a secure (HTTPS) page; otherwise choose from the picker. Reload the page if the form loads late.
Mobile
- On Android, confirm Secure Passwords is selected as your autofill service in your phone's system settings, and for Chrome, choose Autofill using another service in Chrome's Autofill services settings. (The mobile apps, and autofill on iPhone and iPad, are coming soon.)
- Open the Secure Passwords app once so it's unlocked and synced, then return to the page you were filling. Android autofill fills logins on websites in your browser, not inside other apps.
