I forgot my master password

Because your vault is zero-knowledge, recovery depends on the options you set up in advance.
Important
Your vault is encrypted with your master password, which we never see — so we can't reset it or recover your data. Only a recovery key you set up in advance can, and no reset email is sent.
- If you set up a recovery key, select Forgot your master password? on the sign-in page, enter your email or username and your recovery key, then choose a new master password.
- If your vault is still unlocked on a device, you can still open and copy your items there. Changing your master password or setting up a recovery key asks for your current one, so neither helps now.
- If you have neither, your vault can't be recovered: the only path is to start over with a new account, which permanently loses the encrypted data. Your email stays with the old account, so use a different one.
Tip
Prevent this next time: set up a recovery key (Settings, then Account recovery) and keep your 2FA backup codes saved offline.
